What They Didn’t Teach You in French Class Slang Phrases for the Cafe, Club, Bar, Bedroom, Ball Game and More By Henry Rowe and Adrien Clautrier

"I received a free book in exchange for writing a review on my blog"

There is always a book coming out for all types of languages you want to study. However, I just had to see what this book, What They Didn't Teach You in French Class was all about! The authors, Henry Rowe and Adrien Clautrier really created something that isn't just a great way to learn something new, but funny. The one big difference to other books is that many words and phrases in this book aren't found in many of the language books, especially on French.

Instead, normal study books and guides include normal, everyday phrases. Close to ones as if you are just visiting and want to know how to get around France or talk to people. However, this book has fun phrases that we would normally use in our everyday lives. Again, it really does include phrases that we would say in a more improper or possibly if we know the person well, type of situation. Some of these would be like my man or my girlfriend, a drunk, wine and many others.

I mean it is easily ordered from greetings, people, food and so on. However, there are some normal words like we would say friend or officer and doctor, but many of the other words and phrases refer to the real slang we use daily. I mean, sometimes saying hi to a  friend is nice but, normally we would be more like hey. So There are so many fun ones, that we speak English or another language daily.

Therefore, I found this book to have humor and be so up-to-date with the lingo that goes around the world today! It's true no one just says hi anymore and I'm sure the French love to use slang as we do in the USA. So I really love this book and found it super helpful!

Information About The Authors:
Adrien Clautrier is a self-employed mechanic born and raised in Marseille, France. A motorcycle and automobile enthusiast, he has completed two US coast-to-coast trips, one on a Harley Davidson and the other in a Cadillac. When he is not in his garage or on the road, he reads non-stop (especially Frédéric Dard’s San Antonio series) or listens to the stand-up comedies of the late French comedian Coluche.

Henry Rowe left Berkeley to play soccer in France. He never made it out of the amateur ranks but stayed for the used bookstores and St-Émilion wine cellars. He currently lives in Ménilmontant in Paris, frequents Mon Chien Stupide, and listens to everything from Serge Gainsbourg to Toulouse’s Jerry Spider Gang.
