"I received a free copy of the book in exchange for writing a review on my blog"
There are books that show photos, guide you with much-needed info on taking a proper photograph, and even those books that just cover all types of subjects to capture. However, I've been really interested in taking photos of horses. This has been ever since the one photo I shot of the mommy horse and her child eating together. It was such a beautiful image and the love and care that it shows, which really makes me happy to just look at daily. So of course, my eyes were directed at this book, Horses by Shelley Paulson when I saw the cover.
It has been just an eye opener with beautiful photos from start to finish, and each photo has an included story which makes your heart fall in love and eyes open just a bit wider. I just adored every single image, the natural look of the horse, the relationship with other animals and humans, and the movements captured perfectly! It's like looking at the real horse, in person and not just at a photograph.
This book has been a big pleasure for me. It's memorable shots of the horse entirely, a look at its real surroundings and just how I wish I could own all of them! Plus, I'm not just reading about how to take a proper photograph of a horse, how to get the right natural light in position while taking that shot or even just perfecting a portrait shot from a distance. This book takes you up close and doesn't leave out any whisker, nostril, eye or hoof! Now, that is something I really love about this book and why I find it to be one of a kind.
Finally, there is so much in life that is beautiful, but when taking that shot of something you really adore, it just lasts a lifetime! So to have found a book on real horses that capture a story, with a little text to help you envision everything your viewing, well it's just a perfect touch. I am very pleased with this book and feel that I'm extremely inspired to get out there and take some pictures!
