"I received a free book in exchange for writing a review on my blog"
Sewing Machine Magic by Steffani Lincecum has been my real true helper for all of those sewing presser feet I just bought. I have so many feet that I'm having trouble knowing what they do and how to use them. Though this book has changed that for the best! Thanks to this wonderful guide and book I now can use a few more of my presser feet, ones I really want to know how to use to add specific detailed designs to many of my projects I have coming up. I don't have to fear of never touching these feet for my sewing machine for a long time since this book has clear images and guidance to the use and purpose of many feet I now own.
However, this book isn't only about the feet, but the wonderful machines you can buy that fit your personal preferences and the tools, fabrics, needles, thread and so much more. Though I feel the best part is that this isn't based on the beginners guide to buy a machine and use, more focused on the additional accessories you can purchase and finally learn to use correctly. I would highly recommend this for that purpose, a beginner who needs to learn about the accessories and how to install or use them. Although, this is even good for a small reminder on how to use the machine and what you need to do before beginning to sew.
Now on the inside of the book and the presser feet. There is a complete guide to all accessories for the machine and features, as well as what they are meant for. However, what really caught my attention was, of course, the basic feet and even some fancier types that can be used to stitch of fabrics. There are a few I've never heard of or always was curious about listed in the book like the flower foot, elastic foot, and even the pintuck foot. It really just amazes me what I can do and with the clear view of the designs that can be created, makes me excited to open the box of presser feet I did purchase and start trying them out. I honestly don't think this could be any easier to understand. It's a clear to read guide and an excellent way to gain knowledge on all types of presser feet as well as the other accessories you'll use with your sewing machine.
Finally, I really love this book and Steffani Lincecum, did a great job creating this useful guide. It's so easy to view and read what is happening with the fabric and feet, how to install and setup and sewing machine and even choosing the right thread to add a little detail to the fabric and just using the right type. I may not have all the feet I bought in this book, but I did get tips, troubleshooting help and also projects I can create as well as guidance with the presser feet I will want to use often. That is why I highly recommend this with any purchase of sewing feet, as it's only been a sewing companion of mine when switching to a new foot and trying some new projects.
