The book, FOOD PHOTOGRAPHY by Corinna Gissemann is full of realistic, excellently captured food photos that make your mouth water! Also, this book is packed with information to capture these photos yourself! There are great details and helpful hints to get the best image of every dish you want to capture on the camera. The cover photo really caught my eye and made me more interested about the secret to capturing a perfect photo of dishes, all types!
The author did an excellent job explaining the different accessories that can help you capture the right type of light, use of tripods, lenses, cameras and much more.
It's really interesting and provides so much more information on specific hardware and accessories as many camera books will do. So not only will you learn to perfect the perfect shot for food and drinks, but also how to use and choose the right accessories. Also, understand the differences and what you can do to capture the shot perfectly!
A really great extra useful information in this book is that it'll help you figure out what to do and not to do when capturing food photography. Example being, to never use the built-in flash of the camera. Something I actually never realized and understood till I read this book. Also a few more like using manual rather than auto, using white balance manually before shooting, and increase exposure time to compensate for the light. However, each of these is great tips and with the provide images of real food photography, you're sure to want to try these out and capture your own food porn!
Finally, I really enjoyed the help with this book! Plus, how you can learn to take certain photos of different types of meals like soups and main courses, under each section. So it's such a tasteful addition to photography and a great beginners guide or anyone who is interested in perfecting their food photography.
