Lessons in Classical Painting by Juliette Aristides

The book, Lessons in Classical Painting by Juliette Aristides is truly amazing with the simple steps to follow. It's not difficult to understand and yet this book has wonderful real live paintings inside that inspire or could inspire anyone to pick up a brush and begin painting!
The different lessons would be understanding value, form, temperature, and even color. These are broken down into easier steps and lesson to help you understand and grasp the concept before learning another. Even if in order of the lessons you'll learn, I just love that you can go right back that chapter/section and relearn or try to understand how to work with the right temperature or how to work with value on your painting without searching throughout the book for the answer.
Also, the book is filled with some interesting words. I mean, there is one that really makes sense. You could take it as a quote when the author writes about how painting education may have a starting date, but there is no natural ending. That is so true because it's always something new or different added and art  can always be taught new with incredible techniques and ideas as time goes on. However, there are many moments in this book I felt that the words meant something so truthful about painting.
Also, the book has just been so helpful given me an idea how to paint all types of still life and making it easier for myself, someone who never had a real class about painting and understanding how to do so with someone there to guide me.
Finally, this is an excellent book and I wished I had the other one she wrote before, Lessons in Classical Drawing. However, if it's as good as this book was for painting, I might have to pick me up one!
