The Makeup Artist Handbook by Gretchen Davis and Mindy Hall

The book, The Makeup Artist Handbook by Gretchen Davis and Mindy Hall is all about makeup used for the entire body, face and pretty much where ever it's needed! Right away, this is a great book for students taking a course in this field or those interested in makeup. The information is very detailed and covers everything that is needed to design the perfect look. What stuck out to me, was the cover, which really shows you exactly what this book is all about. However, unlike just a glamour book or a something on makeup for beauty and everyday style, this book is for makeup in all occasions. I mean it's made for fashion and dress up for the theatre, TV, Spooky movies and much more!  There are many visual examples of the steps to produce these looks and tons of information to help you out. It actually has some examples on making facial hair, changing a persons look with photoshop and how to work with all types of different shaped bodies, like the head and eyes.
Now, I know I'm no makeup artist, but always had interest in the field. My mom she use to do this in High School for a theatre course, and almost took it up as a career. However, I think her stories of this, made me more intrigued to find something on the topic of Makeup Art. Therefore, I found this book and am so glad I did!
Honestly, I really just love makeup and art, so to find a book that shares some great ideas and tips to perfect the look needed for any theme, either being for a TV show, movie or just everyday, this book has it all! Therefore, to be able to  practice and use these techniques for Halloween or everyday, could be fun. Plus, for anyone who is really into the field of becoming a Makeup Artist, this book really can help.
Finally, I am very impressed that this is like a complete book from head to toe! You will learn so much and take in some excellent tips and techniques to create a certain look no matter the purpose. Practice makes perfect and with this book, The Makeup Artist Handbook It is possible to start a career or just have fun with creating realistic detailed looks on anyone and even yourself!
