Tiny Whittling More Than 20 Projects to Make By Steve Tomashek

The book, Tiny Whittling by Steve Tomashek is a great guide for beginners and anyone interested in making cute little animals from small pieces of wood. It's a great beginners guide and something that really takes the time to show you step by step photos to perfect the cutest little critter, which you can make 20 and more different types! What also is really nice is that this book is great for gifts! They could be the cutest statue for collectors or a gift for a child as a toy. However, they are just so adorable and super easy to create.
The many different type of creatures you can make in this book are animals such as a dog, cat, pig, Horse, Hen, Chick, Snowman, Easter Bunny, and so many others. What is cool is that with each animal, there is a step by step photo of each animal. How to create and where to start. It's basically taking a pencil drawing the design on the small size block of wood or even soap and carrots. Than taking a sharp knife to whittle down the wood into the shape you just drawn. Of course in the beginning of the book, it will tell you every little material you'll need before beginning and what you should wear for safety, while working.  Plus, there are even tips how to paint for a look of realistic fur or texture to the animal or object your creating. So even if you adventure to try a different animal, which isn't in the book or any object, you can try some tips to paint it to look realistic.
Finally, this is a wonderful book and so easy to use. I think if your interested in working with wood carving and want a place to start, than this is a great book to get you started. Plus, it's so easy and has a great step by step for each project inside, plus helpful tips!
