The Principles of Knitting By June Hemmons Hiatt

The book, The Principles of Knitting by June Hemmons Hiatt is an excellent book and guide into knitting! I have so much of my questions answered inside this book for use of different techniques like decorative styles and designs with the stitches as well as fabrics and measurements. However, there are many more inside this book and it's easily able to be found by the contents page in front. These sections inside the book are listed in parts, which make it easy to figure out what I want or need to know. A few of these parts are Learning and Methods, Constructing a Fabric, Decorative Techniques, Special Fabrics, Stitch and Color Patterns, Pattern Design, Materials, and Working a Project.
There are many different subjects covered under each part and different illustrated designs and tips/techniques covered as well. It is extremely informative to what is being told or even taught. Almost like a professional knitter inside your home. So for me, this is a giant bible of everything knitting! It's well organized, easy to follow and has all the information in one place. For a beginner, who may be getting into knitting or has already started and wants to learn a little more, this is a great reference book to get.  There also is good visual images and guides to teach use of the needle during the Part one of Methods and Learning.
However, in this book you will understand so much even terminology. The entire book can be helpful for anyone interested in knitting and also has a nice defining glossary in the back that can really come in hand, with words that are used often and their definitions. So honestly, this is a huge book over 700 pages, but every part is filled with information that will help and supply great reference. Also, with the very well organized book it's easy to get the information that you want to find out, rather than search for hours to figure something out. So it's definitely like having a teacher beside you, when you need one!
