The Fashion Designer's Handbook and Fashion Kit by Marjorie Galen

The book, The Fashion Designer's Handbook and Fashion Kit by Marjorie Galen is perfect for creating your own inspirational designs. It is a complete kit with book, 24 reusable patterns for doll size creations, 1 dress form, 3 decorative fabrics, rick rack, embroidery thread and tape measure. The cool part is that you'll be able to make all types of clothing such as dresses, skirts, tops and bottoms. Plus, accessories like purses and scarfs. There are plenty of things in this book to create. It's really a lovely kit that be given as a gift, to the one girl in your life that has been interest in becoming a Fashion Designer.
I found the kit to be super cute and totally easy to read. It's perfect for little hands and adults to work with. However, this book gives you tons of ways to started and thinking like a real fashion designer. You learn about fabric, the tools and patters as well as preparing yourself for creating these lovely designs.
What is lovely about this book is that most of the designs don't need much sewing and are made simple for girls to easily put together.  Two of these are the no-sew sock dress and Martha's no-sew circle dress, which makes it safer for younger girls to do, without any sharp pair of scissors involved. However, there are many that use a little more work and sewing to put together.
I really am in love withe the Princess Party Dress, it's very elegant and just so beautiful. Each outfit you can create is just lovely and this book can make a great use for creating doll clothing instead of buying them. So I find using this book to create these wonderful outfits can be so much fun, since  I can make my own fashion designed styles. Therefore, this is just a wonderful guide book and kit for creating doll designed clothes!
